Nintendo 3DS designer Kenichi Sugino has said that Nintendo has no short term plans to redesign the Nintendo 3DS.
The Big N has made a reputation for itself after releasing four version of the Nintendo DS hardware since 2004.
However, speaking in an Iwata Asks interview, Sugino explained that Nintendo used all the same tricks used to design to Nintendo DS Lite and applied them to their latest handheld.
Iwata told Sugino: "The first thing (Nobuo) Nagai-san, who’s in charge at the Uji plant, said to me when he looked over the designs for Nintendo 3DS before mass production began was "This time it’s fully packed right from the start."
Sugino replied: "That’s why we don’t have any short-term plans for creating a more compact version of Nintendo 3DS like we did with Nintendo DS Lite."
The Nintendo 3DS is available in the UK on March 25.
