HMV has priced the Nintendo 3DS at £229.99 following this afternoon’s press conference in Amsterdam.
Nintendo chose not to announce a price for the upcoming 3D handheld during its press conference, telling the audience that retailers were already aware of their trade price.
HMV is the first retailer to confirm a price point following the press conference. Other retailers had speculated that the handheld would cost between £250 and £300 in the weeks building up to the conference. Looks like £229 is the price for real, this time.
The Nintendo 3DS launches in the UK on March 25th.
UPDATE: Since posting this article, Play.com has priced the 3DS at £219. Looks like the price wars have already begun.
