Konami has announced that Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D will launch in the UK on Thursday, March 8th – the same day it goes on sale in Japan.
The Nintendo 3DS remake of Konami’s best-selling PS2 classic sees Snake infiltrating a Soviet jungle to locate the whereabouts of a kidnapped scientist and fighting for his survival against the Soviet forces.
The new game is also one of the first 3DS games to make use of the new Nintendo 3DS Circle Pad Pro, an add-on for the handheld that adds a second analogue stick.
According to Konami, the Circle Pad Pro makes targeting enemies simpler than ever, with the second Circle Pad “allowing users to target distant foes with ease”.
The Circle Pad Pro launches alongside Resident Evil: Revelations at the end of the month.
An additional feature developed specifically for the 3DS version of Snake Eater is the all-new camouflage photography system, a system that lets users take photos of items in the real-world and use them to create brand new camo suits.
Look out for MGS: Snake Eater 3D on March 8th 2012.
