Level 5 has announced that its Professor Layton series has shipped 12 million units worldwide.
The series first made it big back in 2007 with ‘Professor Layton and the Curious Village’ and has since become a runaway success on the Nintendo DS.
Since then the series has spawned four sequels and a feature-length film ‘The Eternal Diva’.
A sixth entry in the series is currently in development alongside the on-going collaboration of Professor Layton VS Phoenix Weight for Nintendo 3DS.
The European release of Japan’s 3DS launch title Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle is expected to happen later this year.
