Nintendo is to begin phasing out the Nintendo DSi in Japan according to a Japanese report.
The article states the handheld is no longer in production with many retailers either sold out or relying on the remaining stock inventory.
The Nintendo DSi launched in Japan in late 2008 and has been a popular seller worldwide.
According to the report, Nintendo will continue to produce Nintendo DSi XL systems alongside the production of the upcoming handheld the Nintendo 3DS.
