Nintendogs Cats has been named the newly-released Nintendo 3DS’ first million selling title after Nintendo updated it’s million seller’s list.
This figure (1,710,000 sales to be exact) includes all three versions of the game which were released alongside the new handheld in all major regions.
Nintendogs Cats was just shy of topping sales of Capcom’s Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition which the publisher confirmed has sold over a million copies a short time ago.

Other new million sellers include a number of DS titles including Art Academy, Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem and Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies which just scraped over the million mark.
Wii titles fared a little better with Donkey Kong Country Returns closing in on 5 million units sold worldwide, doubling sales of the Super Mario All-Stars collection released alongside the Retro Studios’ platformer.
Meanwhile Kirby’s Epic Yarn and Mario Sports Mix both topped over 1,500,000 units in their short shelve time.
Sales of Super Mario Galaxy 2 has now reached over 6 million units worldwide.
