Nintendo is aiming to make consumers smile with the Nintendo 3DS E-shop.
Speaking to GTTV, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said the big N isn’t looking to copy applications like Apple’s App Store or the PlayStation Store with its own digital service:
"As you know, Nintendo never loves to do what people have already done. Yes, we will have a Nintendo E-Shop," Reggie told GTTV. "We will have digital content, we will have a range of different applications, but we’ll do it with a Nintendo touch."
Reggie went on to explain that the ‘Nintendo touch’ is to make an digital store that’s fresh and different:
"We’ll bring smiles to the face of consumers and we’re going to do it in a way that, from a consumer perspective, feels new, fresh and different."
Nintendo has stated that the 3DS E-shop will not be available day one but around May of this year.
The Nintendo 3DS launches in the UK on March 25.
