Devil May Cry 4 preview Xbox 360One of the biggest games on the PlayStation comes to the Xbox 360 in February - Devil May Cry 4 gets a cross-platform release and, having gone hands-on with the game this month, we think 360 gamers should be very, very excited. This fourth iteration continues the story of iconic mercenary hero Dante will face a new enemy in the form of warrior Nero - it's Nero that you'll play at the start of the game - and it's looking bigger and better than ever. If you've never played any of the previous Devil May Cry games, we think you're in for a treat - this could be one of the most challenging games of the year. The lead protagonist of this second true sequel (Devil May Cry 3 was set before the events of the original) is Nero - a warrior who sees Dante as an enemy. Given that you take control of Dante during the game, we'd guess that the two join forces, although it may be that DMC4 adopts a Call of Juarez approach to the story, with the two controllable leads fighting on opposite sides. One of the most immediately noticeable changes is that the controls have been slightly simplified, to make the game more accessible to newcomers - we imagine this will be particularly welcome for those who've never played the original trilogy, which could be a significant percentage of 360 gamers. Having said that, anyone after a serious challenge will be pleased to hear that it eventually goes above and beyond the difficulty level of Devil May Cry 3, with some of the later battles testing even the most experienced player of the earlier games.
